What is included

What does an interior painting project include?

Interior painting is a project where the preparation decides how long the finish lasts. JT Paint handles the whole sequence: protecting the space, repairing and preparing the surfaces, and applying the finish with attention to the details people notice every day, like cut lines, trim and doors.

  • Walls and ceilings
  • Trim, baseboards and doors
  • Drywall repairs and surface preparation
  • High-end residential finishes
  • Spray application where the surface calls for it
  • Commercial interiors and renovation work

Step by step

How does an interior painting project run?

The same standard on every job: show up when expected, communicate clearly, protect the property and finish with attention to the details.

  1. Talk through the scope

Rooms, surfaces, colors and timing. You tell us what you have in mind and we talk through what the job involves.

  2. Protect the space

Floors, furniture and the areas that are not being painted are protected before work starts.

  3. Repair and prepare

Drywall repairs, patching and surface preparation, so the paint has something solid to hold on to.

  4. Paint and check the details

The finish goes on, then the details get checked: cut lines, trim, doors and touch-ups.

Choosing a finish

Which paint sheen works best in each room?

Sheen changes how a wall looks and how well it stands up to cleaning. Flatter finishes hide surface imperfections; glossier finishes are easier to wipe down but show every flaw underneath, which is one more reason preparation comes first.

Product and sheen are part of the estimate conversation, room by room.

Common interior sheens compared
SheenTypical useTrade-off
Flat or matteCeilings, low-traffic wallsHides imperfections, harder to clean
EggshellLiving rooms, bedroomsSoft look with some washability
SatinKitchens, hallways, kids' roomsEasier to clean, shows more surface flaws
Semi-glossTrim, doors, bathroomsMost durable and washable, highlights every flaw

Planning

What affects the cost of an interior painting project?

Every estimate starts from the same questions. Knowing them ahead of time makes the conversation faster:

  • How many rooms and how much surface: walls, ceilings, trim and doors
  • The condition of the surfaces and how much repair and preparation they need
  • Ceiling height and access
  • The number of colors and changes from dark to light
  • The finish level, from a clean repaint to high-end residential finishes
  • Whether the space is occupied or empty during the work

Scheduling

When is a good time to paint interiors in New Hampshire?

Interior work does not depend on outdoor weather the way exterior painting does, so it can be planned through the colder months, when the outside of the house has to wait. That makes fall and winter a practical window for kitchens, living areas, hallways and commercial interiors.

What matters more than the season is how the space is used during the work. An occupied home or an open business needs the job planned room by room, with the protected areas and the working areas clear from the start. Tell us how the space will be used when you request an estimate, and the schedule is built around it.
